Sewing & Necklace Ministry

Jeremiah 29:11 Mission gives women and young ladies the opportunity to earn money by making bags, aprons, and purses. The average daily income of a person in Honduras is $5 a day so these ladies can earn 3 days wages by making and selling one item. The sewing project began with three willing hearts who heard God's calling and obeyed. These three ladies taught the women of Santa Elena, Honduras how to do basic sewing and they have expanded their skills from there. These women are eager to learn and to use their skills to become more self-sufficient and less dependent upon others.
In October, some missionaries from Albany, GA taught our ladies how to make beads from paper. Since then, we have made over 2000 necklaces with these skills. Each necklace sells for $15 in America. So far, these beads have helped to build much needed homes and areas such as bathrooms and kitchens onto homes. It will soon give one the ability to have running water.
